Richie, I just got my copy of Carla Olson’s new album, “Have Harmony, Will Travel,” and the highlight of it is your duet with Carla on Gene Clark’s Byrds classic “She Don’t Care About Time.” What a beautiful version of this great song! Here’s hoping all your fans and supporters pick up a copy of Carla’s album; it’s full of great rock ‘n’ roll in the classic vein!
Dear Richie,
It gives me great happiness to know you, Nancy and your family are well and happy. You may recall I tossed you an orange or two during the Poco days and was the other half of Ann and Terese in Colorado.
Sorry to say I will miss you in NY June 2013 since I will be away traveling with my daughters, two of my five children. Almost caught up to you; I am married 36 years this August! God has been generous to us both in his blessings. As Neil Young was in his book, citing your talent (outstanding vocals ) in the Buffalo Springfield!

Happy Birthday, Richie! I’ve always remembered the date because it’s the same as my cousin’s — and because I always read every word on album covers in the old days. Thanks for blessing us with your wonderful music and message for so many years!

Hello – I see that Richie is playing at City Winery in Chicago on 6/23/13. Will this be with the full band (RFB)? It doesn’t say if solo or with band. If you can clarify, that would be great. Thanks!
Mike
Full Band as far as we know. Thanks.
I can’t recall if I first saw Poco in Asbury Park, NJ or The Felt Forum in NYC, but I was hooked by the end of the first four bars! I was and still am a huge Buffalo fan, but I’m even more thrilled that the Lord has given you this tremendous ministry, and that while many seem to have either fallen away, or been seduced by false teachings, your’s is still true to our Lord and Savior. I’ll probably never get the chance to do it in this life, but I look forward to the day when a whole bunch of us will sit down and strum our praises to the Lord. That’s going to be one really great concert indeed. Love you bro! Mike
Just got notice that Richie and the band are scheduled to appear at BB King’s in NYC on June 17th.
Do you know if there will be any other shows in the NY, NJ, Long Island area around that time?
Annie
Mr. Furay
I have a copy of They Can Us The Au Go Go Singers LP in my collection.
As I am also a BS and CSN fan I intend to try to get Mr. Stills to autograph it when he comes to Jacksonville (where I live) next month. Can I send you this LP cover so that I can get you to autograph it also? I would be forever grateful. Thank you and God Bless

Hello Richie,I am glad you found our Lord i have always enjoyed your tunes.Poco was my favorite band i still have every LP.Take Care And God Bless
I have followed your musical career since 1967 (I was eleven at the time) from Buffalo Springfield to CSN&Y to Poco and SHF! It was heartwarming to find your website and see that you are alive and well and enjoying the love of family, friends, and your music!

Hi Ritchie:
Love your music. Scott told me to check out your website. Hope to see you guys play this summer.
Hard to believe that 56 years ago we were in Little League, watched Ozzie & Harriet every week and drank fountain Coke at the Rexall Drug store. Hope this finds you & your family well. Please come see us if you visit Texas.
Hi Mr. Furay!! Been over a year now since I’ve seen alive show or heard any news about your recording status!! Any news you can share with us about new music and a tour. Love to see ya again at the Iron Horse in Northampton MA. Thanks for all you do!!
Fan since 70′

Thanks Richie for using the Deliverin’ version of Kind Woman as background to this site. To me, it is the definitive version. With Jim’s punchy riffs and the great harmonies it makes you really shine!
Downloaded Poco Deliverin today…been ages since I last listended and what a fun recording. Made me smile. Thanks for the great music!

Richie,
Your spirit & style of expression captivated me back in 1970 when I heard the first Poco album__ “Lord I know that the day will come when the both of us’ll sit down & strum…” has been stuck in my mind ever since. Your music really helped me through some of the dark days when I knew that there had to be more than what I was seeing around me.
Though I was not to be born again until 1982, knowing that you’d been called to Him made it all the easier for me to understand what was happening to me when it was my time. Thanks for everything and God bless.
Hi Richey,
This is a great web site.
We had tickets to see Buffalo Springfield in El Paso Tx. when I was a junior in high school in 1968.
A short time later, we learned that the band was no longer performing as a group. The promoter booked Gary Puckett and the Union Gap along with Canned Heat instead. It was a good show, but we had our hearts set on Buffalo Springfield. I never get tired of telling that one! Since those were the days before the Internet, I have always been curious to know if that tour ever got off the ground.
On another note, I lived about 10 houses down the street from Bobby Fuller in El Paso before he left for the Los Angeles area in late ’64. I know that you were busy getting your own band together, but I was wondering if you ever had a chance to see him perform along with his band.
I’m looking forward to reading your book on Buffalo Springfield. I’m also glad to see that you still play music occasionally, and I hope that I will have a chance to watch you perform in concert.
Thanks for all the great music and memories.
Most of all Richey, I’m glad to see that you are doing ok.
Sincerely,
Ben Cordero
Hello Richie , Have you ever considered using a Telecaster on your recordings or live shows ? I’m asking because I have never seen you playing one ? Telecasters are the ultimate country rock guitar and all my heros like Merle Haggard and Muddy Waters play them . I also play guit and have been using the same 1971 Telecaster since , well , 1971 !!! I love it and if it was a woman , I would be married to it !!! It’s also a very sturdy guitar, mine has been in bar fights , and knocked off stages , and its still able to keep its tuning !!! I love my Tele , and I think Fender would probably give you one if you asked ??? Thanks Again , and Keep on PIKKIN N GRINNIN !!!!
Hi Richie. Long time fan. Saw you at Paradise in Boston, ’77 or ’78.
May I ask, what are the ACTUAL lyrics of Good Time Boy?
Hello Richie; i have the unpleasant duty to tell you of the passing of my wife, Robin B. Seekins, on Nov. 19 2012. We were long time fans and your music brought us much joy,and now some comfort and happy memories. We last saw you at Turner Hall in Milwaukee. I was the guy who asked about the “white suit”. We made a cd of music for the gathering and as a keepsake for those who might like one. If you would like one let me know, i’d be happy to send it to you. The set list included Hallel and Satisfied. If you could remember her in your prayers we would both be very grateful.
Love to you and your loved ones
steve
After a few years of watching Greg Laurie’s archived Harvest services, I came across the memorial service for his son Christopher.
Richie, may the Lord bless you, your family, and your band, with your musical message.
Mr. Furay,
I am a senior at St. Mary’s College of Maryland currently at work on an undergraduate thesis which analyzes the origins and growth of country-rock music in the 1960s and 1970s. Your work with the Buffalo Springfield and especially Poco was instrumental in the development of this new genre, and I would love the opportunity to speak with you about it. Any insights you may be able to offer would greatly assist my research. Thank you for your time, and best wishes!
Just want to wish the entire Furay clan, all the Lemkes, Sellens and Lynches a wonderful Thanksgiving. I thank all of you for your friendship and of course, for the great music that fills my life.
Hello Ritchie , I last saw you at the Buffalo Springfield show in Oakland , and I got lost after the show and ended up in the worst part of Oakland , as sweat beaded on my brow and some old van was tailing me I begged God to show me a freeway onramp and finally He did , I was saved from certain destruction and made My WAY HOME . Thanks For The Good Show and Letting Me Live Another Day , Vernon
Been around Christian music for a LONG time–been working for Creation Fest since ’79…been lovin your music since the 60s! I play bass at the Vineyard here in Myrtle Beach, SC …we should get you here sometime!
Hi Ritchie…my late husband , Charlie Reardon, left me an extremely heavy Buffalo Springfield sign from, I believe, your bus and I wonder if you would like itback…I’d attach a pic , but I don’t know how to do it with this site…
September 22 show in Loveland was OUTSTANDING! So happy I made the trek! And now…welcome to Pepper Paige Lynch, who was present at the show but not quite read for her public debut. Congratulations to Jesse & Tom…and the whole Furay clan. Pretty soon you’ll need your own mountain!
Hello Richie , Your band for the new album looks different than your normal band ? Where did you find all these unsavory characters ? Are they musicians or Haight Street throwbacks ? Good Luck , Vernon
Richie, My husband and I went to hear you and your band in Loveland last Sat. night. We thought the music and the level of musicianship was excellent. The only thing is we felt assaulted by the volume. The volume was so loud that the music was secondary. Also, the instruments were louder than the singers, which we feel should be the other way around. Thank you for coming to perform!
Hello Ritchie,
Just saw a posting for Poco playing Oct. 6, 2012 in Bakerfield California. Is this booking only a few members and does not include yourself?
I caught both nights Buffalo Springfield at Fox in Oakland . Long ways from Salem Oregon , but was worth it!!! Had not seen Springfield until then and never saw Poco til you had left the band. Any chance of a Poco reunion again?
Still have the dog collar which belonged to my dog Poco that you graciously signed at the zoo in Portland Oregon. Thanks for humoring me. Best wishes,
Randy C. Lawrence
Wow Richie, I hope someday to see you play, your tunes and singing from the early days till now have been a part of my life!
I hope you come out to Kalispell Montana some day…
I play a little music with my kids ( they play fiddle) and we have on Poco and your solo music on almost every day!
I have so much to thank you for in spreading the love of Jesus Christ through your work too. Gotten me through many a sad time. Picken up the pieces and Good Feeling to know are 2 of my all time favorite songs of all time.
Jackie
Hi Richie,
My wife and I have tickets to see you in Loveland at the Rialto. It’s been a long time since we met, I was hoping we could meet you again for a couple of minutes before or after the show. I talked to Brent today. We still love to talk guitars and amps. We will never get tired of that.
We look forward to your show.
Thanks, Kevin
Richie , I’ve really enjoyed your music over the years,
both with the Buffalo Springfield and with Poco. It is inspiring to me
that you faithfully follow Christ and serve Him with your talents.
May God Bless you and your family.
Rob
Thanks so much for all of the smiles from your rock tunes and inspiration from your Christian music. I saw Poco in Louisville, Kentucky, many years ago, and it remains my all-time favorite concert. God bless.
Just want to mention how excited I am at the prospect of seeing the Richie Furay Band in Loveland 30 days from now!! Can’t wait!!
Hi Richie,
Saw you w/Poco at Valley Forge Music Fair in Penn. in the 70′s. Your site it so positive and uplifting….I came to know the Lord in 1995. Then, after all these years, wanted to see what you were up to. What a blessing! He is faithful, isn’t he. Do you ever tour anywhere in southeastern North Carolina? We would love to see you again!
Richie-
I wanted to let you know that I was the winning bidder on the package you so generously donated to “Mase Madness” the foundation set up in memory of my friend’s grandson who passed away at only six months old. The hand written lyrics to “A Good Feelin’ to Know” are proudly displayed in my music room. Unfortunately, I opened the CD for “In My Father’s House” and it cracked when I tried to remove it from the case. I was looking forward to hearing it as I sing in the Worship team in my church and am always on the look out for new material. I’m hesistant to ask, but would you consider sending a replacement? If not I understand and I’ll still enjoy the photo, your book, the t-shirts, the other CD and especially the lyrics. God Bless you and continue to make good music and spread God’s Word!
Richie: I get on internet voyages when I go to a concert. My wife and I saw CSN last night here in Houston, and today i’m surfing the internet for information, history, etc. Obviously, I came around to Buffalo Springfield and you. I have been on your website before and I have all BS CD’s, but I simply wanted to thank you for being a rock star that loves Jesus. It seems so many shy away (a nice way of putting it) but you put Him right out there, good for you! That’s it, God Bless You Richie! Keep it up.
Hi Richie.
I am just discovering your music as a link to buffalo Springfield. I have the entire B.Spring, Stills, Young, collection and just got “picking up the peices” on vinyl yesterday. I was so blown away by your music. You are an amazing talent. For myself as a musician and songwriter, hearing your creations will influence and change everything I do from here forward. Thanks for this. Please consider coming up to Toronto to play a show.
Yo Richie – if you get to NC let me know! I’d love to see a show, or better yet, jam with you! I’ve got a CSNY cover band & can hang w/doing Neil’s part (check my version of Cinnamon Girl or Hey,Hey, My, My on my website) or Stephen’s. You just do yours…hahaha Most importantly, you’ve inspired me w/your commitment to Christ – now that’s truly cool.
Richie, you helped the Denver area heal a few years ago around a tragedy at a High School. I know you’ll do what you can to help Denver heal now this time around a tragedy at a movie theater. What a great journey God has led you and your family on from Ohio to Colorado! How can we help YOU this time, Richie? Paul in Ohio
Boy, Wish you would get over to SW FL, either in Naples at the Phil or in Ft. Myers at the Barbra B Mann Performing Arts Center.
Richie,
Saw Bufflalo Springfield reunited at Neil Young’s Bridge School Concert and was blown away. You guys still have it!!!! I have been so disappointed by most old guy rock reunions, but not this one. It wildly exceeded my expectations.
Until that show I never realized how much your voice contributed to the Buffalo Springfield sound. I had always though of it as a Neil and Steve thing, WRONG.
Thanks for putting on such a great show. That music still holds it own. It was and is something special .
Regards,
Mark

A coworker, who is a mega-fan of Richie’s, lent me Richie’s autobiography “Pickin’ Up the Pieces”. Since this book was published; due to the enthusiasm of my coworker, yes, I am finally reading the book. What’s come to my attention was: can anyone else tell a story of how Richie may have influence their lives? I met Richie in ’83 when he was pastoring a little Calvary Chapel church known as Rocky Mountain Christian Fellowship (RMCF ). I was a Mormon then. Here’s the thing, that little church loved me, they prayed for me. On one particular Wednesday night, which was the turning point of my life, Richie witnessed to me and helped understand where my mormon faith was wrong. He spent most of the service talking to me. I can now imagine that Richie was talking, the rest of the congregation may have praying for me. It’s been 29 years since that day, and I’ve walking with Lord since. Reading his book, has just brought back those fond memories.
Richie, It’s impossible to put into words what your music has meant to me over the years, but since introducing my wife to your music, through albums and the concerts with POCO at Steelville, MO, I realize that the path you followed has helped make my path easier and more inspired. It was truly a highlight for me to meet you at the 40th. Thanks for the music, and indirectly, some guidance along the way.
saw you in Waukesha Friday night. You looked and sounded great! Wished you would hacve soon a full set.Take care. Easy does it. One day at a time
“A Good Feelin’To Know”…..sweet track!
hey mr. furay i met you tonight in downtown waukesha and you told me i should check out your site. thanks again for the autograph, it was a pleasure to meet you in person man!
Received Alive CD ! Great ,like being there with you and the band ! Cant wait for you to play the Boulton theater in Bayshore, NY , again !
Peace from A Viet Vet !
Your country/rock influence trickled down to me from Buffalo Springfield, The Eagles,Pure Prairie League,& Linda Ronstadt.
But following your lead again, what is most important now is the gratitude shown in the lyrics to ..”the God of Second Chances….”
It’s still May…happy belated Birthday! LOl!
Cindy

Richie — I’ve been a fan of yours through the Buffalo Springfield, Poco, SHF and Richie Furay Band days. Saw Poco open for PP&M at Holloywood Bowl early 70′s when you blew them off the stage. Haven’t seen you live since, but really want to this year. If my wife and I have to fly from our Las Vegas home to see you in Loveland, we will. So glad you’ve kept the faith after all these years.
yes please come to Loveland! gonna be a great show!!! there is actually a direct flight from vegas to the loveland airport..
Richie, I forgot to wish you happy birthday this past week when I ordered a couple of new Springfield and RF Band shirts. 68 years young and the finest voice for a man of your experience that I know. Thanks for your music, your life, your careers and the many blessings you have brought to so many people through music and your appreciation for the Gospel.

MAYBE THEY DONT WANT TO PLAY BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS THEY HAD IN SANTA BARBARA ? THEY SHOULD JUST PATCH IT UP AND GO FORWARD . PEACE
Dear Richie:
Big renewed hellos !! Thanks for sending the Buffalo Springfield Richie shirt so promptly and your nice greeting.
Hard to believe its been 6 years since we left Colorado for northern Idaho..
Thanks and warm regards to you & family & Colorado.
Steve
Hello Richie, yesterday not far from Neil’s home I was priviledged to see a restored Buffalo Springfield Steam Roller, complete with working Boiler. Couldn’t help but think back on the Band, especially at Shoreline where you all made your triumphant return to the stage as a Band. I hope and pray that will happen again!
Pwhite
It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Pete Fornatale on April 26, 2012 in New York City. He was a well respected DJ for many years on WNEW-FM in New York. He introduced me and many others(via the radio) to Richie, Buffalo Springfield and Poco. Pete’s last “Mixed Bag” radio show was on April 14th on WFUV-FM 90.7, which streams on the net. His show was also featured on Sirius/XM. The station will be doing tributes for days and weeks to come in honor of Pete.
Thanks for the great shows last year with The Buffalo Springfield wish there was a few more. Saw you outside the Fox after the show I know you had a blast as we did. My sister who is past loved your band as we all do. I keep the heard alive playing you guys in my Cafe here in AZ the kids love the sound, Poco to great band to.
Thanks again
Mike
Hey Richie, glad to see you’re still rocking’. I’m not sure how many times other can claim they’ve seen Poco, but I’ve listened to you live at least 17 times. First time was at Carnegie Hall in NYC… made our way to the stage and caught your encore of El Tonto complete with Rusty using his folding chair on the slide guitar! Had the opportunity for quite a few front row seats, especially at Fillmore East, NYC (met you backstage with WNEW FM radio personality) and later on when you warmed up for an outdoor concert with the Beach Boys in NJ (fireworks behind the stage as you all played “Good Feelin’ To Know”) and also in NJ warming up for Loggins and Messina (was hoping for a combo reunion that night). We always tried to get as many friends to go as possible. One time we bought two full rows of tickets because everyone believed in you guys and your music.
Funny how times and lifestyles change. Like yourself, I took my love of music and gave it to the Lord later on. Played in church for 25+ years and still do some events and nights of worship.
Thanks for giving us great memories of a time in our lives where we can reflect as say, “boy, that was some fun!”
Lord bless your every breath!
Hi Richie!!
Hope all is well and everyone is healthy at your home…Please make a return trip to the Iron Horse in Northampton MA this summer if at all possible. You were a bit under the weather last fall when you played that venue!! Been a big fan since 70′ and look forward to an opportunity to sharing a show with my 20 yo daughter!! Thanks for all the great music and keep it coming!!
Matt
Had a dream about meeting you last night and had to catch up with what you were doing. Haven’t heard any of your music since seasons of change but will soon be picking some up. Praise Jesus for continuing to work in your life that makes me happy. Thanks for the wonderful music in the past and hope to be getting some new soon.
Listening to the absolutely INSPIRED youtubes of the band doing Crazy Eyes live got me wondering if Poco ever played it live, and if so if a recording exists. That would be incredible to hear and to see!
Hi Richie! I know I like it when people tell me I’ve inspired them so I thought I would drop you a line to tell you. For about 30 years, I walked around with a mondegreen in my head from Crazy Eyes – I always heard your line as “I used to see your face in the clouds…” then I looked up the lyrics and realized I wouldn’t be infringing on the line. 30 years of thinking about seeing faces in the clouds gave me the lyrics, tune and string arrangement in about three hours – which is fast for me. If you want to hear it, all our music is up for free download on our website.
It sounds nothing like you guys, but you might get a kick out of it. “Face in the Clouds” on Vitus Dance
Hey My Friend ~
Enjoyed website very much – also enjoyed seeing you and Steve again in Santa Barbara, sent an email after that concert but I’m sure you were busy still touring. Had a touch year with a death in the family. Email me when you can. I’ll send another email to your private address.
Love you, man.
Rick

Hi Richie:
Amazing how God works, for years I followed the bands you have played in, then found Christ in 1983. In 2003 we moved to Boulder and son of a gun, found Nissi’s and you a couple of years ago. Seen the band 4 times since then at Nissis. Last time in Feb 2012. Love the blend of music, worship and the mix. (Love Crazy Eyes live, wow!!).
Love ya Richie!
Steve and Gail Jennings
Hey Richie, thanks for all the great music over the years. I still wear out my Poco Legacy C.D. and still love all the other stuff from Buffalo Springfield. Best of all it’s great to know we have a common bond in Christ. Hope to meet ya someday but if not keep the music coming Bro.

HELLO RICHIE , I WANT TO COMMEND YOU ON YOUR 7 DECADES IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS . WHAT DO YOU ATTRIBUTE TO YOUR LONGETIVITY IN THIS CUT THROAT BUSINESS ? WHEATIES ? I WANT WHATEVER YOU ARE HAVING ! PEACE , PHIL
I logged on to try to purchase a copy of “I’ve Got a Reason.” Has the album ever been put on CD? It’s my favorite album of all time. I’ve got one of the original vinyl copies purchased in ’76/’77, but haven’t owned a record player in 22 years, the same length of time I haven’t heard the album. I’d sure like to catch up on all the material I’ve missed since that first solo album.
You’ve got a real treat instore if you haven’t heard anything since 1977 !
RICHIE , WE HAVE LOVED YOU SINCE THE AU GO GO SINGERS THROUGH BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD TO POCO TO SHF TO YOUR SOLO ENDEAVORS TO YOUR LATEST BAND , ALL ARE EXCELLENT , A TRUE TESTAMENT TO THE POWERS OF JESUS CHRIST AND HIS SQUAD OF DISCIPLES . HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON IN CONCERT WITH SOMEONE ?
Hey Richie,
I’m the first to leave a comment here!!! NO way. Awesome new live album. I got mine and I’m diggin’ it man.
Got to play more!!! Love it.
